Learning Technologies at Buninyong

Buninyong Primary has a rich tradition as a leader in technology not only within our region but also statewide. This year we are part of the 1:1 Netbook trial, have participated in the video games in education trial and also created some brilliant multimedia content from prep to year 6 to enhance and showcase what is happening in our classroom.s The Department of Education has been so impressed by what our teachers and students at Buninyong are doing with ICT that our Minister for Education Bronwyn Pike is coming out to see us in December to specifically see what is happening with technolgy at Buninyong.
Buninyong is excellently resourced with an interactive white board and a minimum of 9 computers per classroom from 2010 onwards. Every learning partnership has access to video conferencing technology allowing them to communicate with students and teachers from around the globe.
Our staff are very well trained in utlising the latest learnig technologies in the classroom and are encouraged to utilise technology in their planning, delivery and assessment of curriculum.
from 2010 all our grades 3 - 6 students will have access to laptop computers that will allow for 1:1 learning when required and create far greater flexibility within our learning spaces and resource allocation.
As part of the DEECD Netbook trial all of our Grade 6 students have a netbook computer which they use daily in all aspects of their learning to gain access to information quickly and present their thoughts and ideas that are media rich.
We have also began our Buinyong TV studio which allows students from our main campus and also our Scotsburn campus to create film reports of activities and events happening throughout the school to share with others.
We are always looking for new technologies and opportunities in ICT and will keep you posted as to what we are utilising technology in our classrooms.
Thankyou
